State Rep guilty of dumb, semi-illogical forgery scheme…

There’s officially one less corrupt grifter-lawmaker inside the Oklahoma Capitol!

In case you missed it, now-former State Rep. Ajay Pittman – a self-proclaimed speaker, consultant, and influencer – pled guilty yesterday to three felonies and resigned from office after getting caught trying to pass forged financial documents to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission.

Well, at least I think that’s what happened.

I guess Pittman – who succeeded her mom as the state rep for HD 99 – owed the state a lot of money as part of a settlement with the Ethics Commission over the misuse of campaign donations.

Instead of paying that money back, she and her legislative aide allegedly created a forged $2,500 donation check and submitted it — along with a doctored bank statement — to the Ethics Commission to make it look like she’d received new campaign funds that she could use to satisfy the settlement.

Because no one would ever figure that out, huh?

The Ethics Commission – a.k.a. the state agency that exists almost entirely to investigate fraud and corruption – did figure it out, brought in the Attorney General’s office, and – yada yada yada, blah blah blah – Pittman pled guilty to three felony counts, received a seven-year deferred sentence, and had to awkwardly dodge KFOR’s Dylan Brown outside her own house:

If you were going to produce a ranking of news reporters you’d least like to see standing in your driveway – or chasing you down a hallway – Dylan Brown would have to be in the top five, right? I know a wedding photographer who would think so.

Although she successfully dodged the TV news media, Ajay did issue a non-apologetic statement on Substack that totally ignored her campaign finance issues and felony convictions. You can read it here.

She also shared some posts on Facebook, which, according to her social media rate card that Yawn Doc dug up, would cost her anywhere from $450 to $900!

In addition to "authentic voice and distinctive style," she may want to add “convicted felon,” “disgraced lawmaker,” and "amateur forger” to her bio. Based on the dozens of articles written about her in the past 24 hours, it’s definitely what she is known for.
