PBR Team Series: Wildcatter Days

Oklahoma's professional bull riding team is turning the Paycom Center into a cowboy coliseum this weekend – but let's be honest about who the real pros are. The bulls didn't ask to be here. The bulls didn't sign anything. The bulls woke up, got strapped into some awful contraption and immediately understood the assignment: get this motherfucker off my back in eight seconds or less.
And people love it, apparently a lot. Last year's Wildcatter Days was the highest-grossing PBR event in state history, heehaw. The three-day jamboree runs today through Sunday – check on the tickets and details yourself. Go bulls!

Red Dirt Romance

Marisa says the Red Dirt Romance book event is the perfect way to discover just how weird, smart, specific and hot the romance genre can be. I trust. On Saturday, more than 50 authors will meet fans and sign naughty books alongside locals selling all manner of bookish merch.

As if National Clown Day weren’t horrifying enough, the twisted minds behind Schmancy Pants are celebrating with a little murder. The local sketch-comedy crew is back Saturday night at OK Cider with an all-new show featuring original bits, costumed audience suspects and an ominous warning: May contain clowns.
Tickets are $5, proof they’re doing it for love. We like these folks, so please no jokes about how Wampus has the least funny name.

If you love theatre and could use a little inspo to cut flesh from your diet, catch the final weekend of Lyric's production of Sweeney Todd – Stephen Sondheim's beloved Broadway musical about a murderous barber whose lust for revenge leads to some mouthwatering human meat pies. Admittedly, tofu pies may not have been as popular. Tough call.
