After spending the past few years wooing aluminum smelters, nickel refineries and other weird projects that sound like the origin story of a future Superfund site, Stitt announced this week that Oklahoma is one of five finalists to host something called a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus.
It’s apparently a fancy way of saying nuclear waste dump.

Even though Oklahoma is an oil state that routinely tries to punish cleaner forms of energy like wind and solar, Stitt is apparently all for storing nuclear waste in this disaster-prone state.
