Oklahoma State Fair celebrates first live birth, double stabbings of 2021…

After a year away due to the pandemic, the Oklahoma State Fair is back and more exciting than ever!

According to news reports, the Oklahoma State Fair experienced its first live human birth and double stabbings of 2021. I guess that means we're just one child abduction away from a rare State Fair super-trifecta.

Let's talk about the live birth first.

Although multiple babies are conceived each year at the Oklahoma State Fair, an actual human birth is a very rare occurrence, with the last one taking place back in 1975 when KFOR's Brent Skarky was born underneath the State Fair Speedway.

Here's a pic of the scene that was shared by Channel 25:

As publisher of The Lost Ogle, I've had thousands of State Fair Photos sent my way over the years. I've seen images of people passed out in port-a-potties, blacked-out behind benches and gagging on corn dogs, but I've never been sent a pic of a real-life human birth. I guess I should consider myself fortunate!

Either way, that pic does prove a couple of things...

1. You never know what you'll see at the Oklahoma State Fair

2. It's almost impossible to take a pic of something at the fair without a person in a motorized rascal scooter getting in the way.

Here's another pic after the birth. If they don't name the baby Carnie, there's something wrong with the world.

See? I told you about the scooters!

Either way, that had to be quite a scene. Usually, when someone is wheeled away on a stretcher at the State Fair it has to do with heat exhaustion, alcohol poisoning, or meat sweats. Or a stabbing. That happened over the weekend, too...

Police are investigating after two people were stabbed during a fight Saturday night at the Oklahoma State Fair.

Authorities told KOCO 5 that four males got into a fight a little after 10 p.m., and two people were stabbed. Both were taken to an Oklahoma City hospital in serious condition.

Police did not find the other two suspects involved. They said they do not have a good suspect description.

As I mentioned on Thursday, I saw a double-stabbing / murder at the State Fair back in 2002. Although they're not as rare as live human births, they are equally memorable. This lady would agree.

I guess my only question about the stabbing is how do the capers at the OKCPD not have a good description of the suspects? You're telling me that in today's surveillance state there's not a camera located on every light post, building entrance and toilet at the fair? Cops love to go after low-hanging fruit, and with all the shenanigans that happen at the fair after dark, you'd think they'd have a video command center watching all the petty crimes take place, targeting and profiling suspects with ease and care.

Plus, say what you want about the fair being an unsafe place to visit, there never seems to be a shortage of cops...

I smell a cover-up... or barbeque. I'm not sure.

Anyway, the Oklahoma State Fair's going strong through this weekend, so it will be interesting to see what other surprises it has in store for us. If you spot something weird or unusual, send us a pic!
