Viral Police Chase Star Given 20-year Prison Sentence

It's been a little over two years since Oklahoma model-turned-rebel Brenton Hager captivated viewers from across the globe, when he led police on a lengthy, buck-wild, off-road police chase in a stolen pickup truck across the rural fringes of the Oklahoma City metro…and streamed it all for our enjoyment on Facebook Live.

Remember that one? It kind felt like watching a live, real-life, white trash version of Grand Theft Auto. At one point, Brenton was able to hop out of the truck to remove barbed wire from his bumper. At another, some yahoo vigilante citizen tried to shoot out his tires. The finale — where Brenton planked after being tasered — was a thing of beauty.

Anyway, after toiling away in the Oklahoma criminal justice system for a couple of years, Brenton has finally been tried and sentenced for his captivating crimes.

Via The Oklahoman:

A man who broadcast himself live on Facebook as he led law officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle pleaded guilty Monday to multiple crimes and received a 20-year prison sentence.

"Go big or go home," Brenton Hager told reporters as he was led from District Judge Thad Balkman's courtroom in handcuffs.

Go big or go home? Let's just hope that's nothing he hears in prison! Speaking of prison, Brenton really wants to read TLO behind bars:

Dear D.O.C. – Can you please let Brenton read our stuff? We think a good dose of satirical hero treatment will help rehabilitate him. At the very least, can we have him as a guest on The Lost Ogle Show?

Anyway, we'd like to wish Brenton the best of luck in prison. Sure, he may be a low-life criminal and thief, but he seemed like a fun guy, and has provided a bunch of enjoyment to us and our readers. If he sees Joe Exotic or my cousin in the slammer, please tell them I said "Hi."
