Last week, Patrick brought you the story of Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear, the anti-Muslim gun range in Oktaha. After their story went viral, the owners received threats from all over the world. As a result, they gathered up some gun shooting buddies and local volunteers (pictured above) to provide security.

What could go wrong with that?

Via News 9:

The Muskogee County sheriff said a member of the group guarding an Oktaha gun shop accidentally shot himself Tuesday.

Sheriff Charles Pearson said the man dropped his gun and a bullet hit him in the arm. The sheriff did not identify the man or offer any other details about what happened.

The group of armed citizens and veterans is standing guard outside the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store after the owners said they received death threats from all over the world for putting up a sign saying Muslims weren't welcome.

"I saw several of those gentlemen out there yesterday," Pearson said. "The way they were holding their weapons, with the fingers on the triggers, you can tell a couple of these gentlemen have no idea about weapons safety. It's like the Clampetts have come to town," Sheriff Pearson told muskogeenow.com.

Little known fact about The Lost Ogle crew: A few of us have English degrees, and therefore are way too into poetic justice. Sure, we're assholes from time to time, but I like to think that we're just giving a helping hand to karma when it's most needed. But I have to say, I'm really glad we don't always have to be the ones that mete out the poetic justice. Some folks just bring it on themselves.

Anyway, here's a TLO shout out to Sheriff Pearson for saying exactly what we're all thinking. Though, admittedly, the first classic TV reference that went through my mind was the theme song from Benny Hill.

Also, a wise man once said that you are the company you keep. And if Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear does indeed keep this sort of company, one has to assume that your dollars are better spent elsewhere.
