Meet the newest preadolescent viral video singing sensation from Edmond…

Move over Greyson Chance. There's a new kid on the YouTube block!

Okay, that was an awful intro. It sounds like something you would read in The Gazette's Chicken Fried News. At least I have a good excuse. It's 3:00am and I'm writing about an Edmond tween that appeared on a daytime talk show that my grandparents watch that's hosted by a blonde that I may have seen naked in Playboy a few too many times in high school.

Isn't that weird? If you would have told me back in 1994 that Jenni McCarthy would be hosting a daytime TV show with Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldburg, I would have laughed and said "Yeah, and Chris Hardwick will have his own show on Comedy Central."

The kid posing with Ms. Vaccine Hater and some other lady is Olivia Kay. She's a 10-year-old from Edmond that looks like a 10-year-old from Edmond. Back in November, she released a music video cover of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" on YouTube. It's received over 700,000 views, which is a lot, but not "a lot, a lot." Once again, our Bibi Jones retirement video has about that many. They should have her on the view.

Anyway, the video is worth checking out just so you can have something to discuss with your aunt once Easter rolls around:

You didn't really think I was going to post a clip of a 10 year old girl singing a cover of Adelle, did you? We have some standards. Click here to watch it.

As I mentioned, Olivia appeared on The View on Monday to sing a song. She also set down for an interview. I'm unable to watch it online, but I imagine it went something like this:

Barbara Walters: Tell me, young lady, where did you get those pipes?! You're an amazing center!

Olivia:  Help me! My parents make me do this stuff and I really want to do normal kid things like play with toys.

Whoopie Goldberg: What was your favorite part of making the video? That was fancy stuff! Jumpin Jack Flash!

Olivia: It was awful. My parents force me to do this stuff so they can live vicariously through me. I had to set in front of that fire pit for three hours. Know how dangerous that is?

Barbara: You're so adorable. If you could be any type of tree, what would it be?

Olivia: One that makes candy.

Anyway, we wish Olivia the best of luck as she pursues her music career. Who know, in 20 years we'll be watching her host The View or a really awful show on Comedy Central.
