Another Oklahoma teacher arrested for being drunk at school…

1:56 PM EDT on September 11, 2023

Even though Ryan Walters may push you to the bottle, we’d like to offer a friendly reminder to all Oklahoma educators not to drink and teach this school year.

We’re offering this courtesy reminder because, for the second time this semester, an Oklahoma elementary school teacher has been arrested for being drunk at school.

This time around, the boozehound was Jennifer Davis – a 4th-grade teacher at Cross Timbers Elementary in the hamlet of Tecumseh.

I guess she was acting a bit loopy the morning of September 7th. Her bosses didn't see the educational value in all that, so they called the police to interview her and give her a breathalyzer test. She blew a 0.066 and was promptly arrested for public intoxication.

Fortunately for all the rubberneckers out there, the local media got their hands on the body cam footage for our viewing enjoyment. It's not quite as funny as some of the "educational content" from Prager U, but still a good watch.

Here are some details of the arrest from Fox 25:

"For them to say I was drinking while at school is such a lie," Davis says to a police officer from the back of a patrol unit.

Police say her blood alcohol level was 0.066

"What was I charged with exactly?" Davis asks the officer. "Public intoxication," he says.

Earlier that morning, investigators say a principal smelled alcohol on Davis's breath.

"The principal went to get the teacher so we could visit with her about the accusation that had been made," Superintendent Robert Kinsey says.

Davis admits she drank wine the night before, according to the police report.

School administrators though, are not buying her story.

Yeah, I’m not buying her story either. There’s no way a seasoned drinker can’t act semi-normal and avoid detection at work when only blowing a .066 on the breathalyzer. That's only two of three drinks! I bet she also popped some gummies, too. That would explain it.

Anyway, just like he was when Ms. Coates was arrested at Perkins-Tryon Intermediate School, Ryan Walters has totally ignored the story, and the suddenly growing issue of Oklahoma teachers showing up drunk to school. I guess since none of them handed out a QR code to a library, it doesn’t bother him.
