There’s another sex scandal at the State Capitol…

In case you forgot, the Oklahoma State Capitol is basically a glorified frat house. They have strict rules and a self-righteous mission, but the primary reason men join is to make friends, meet girls, go to parties and get laid.

If you need proof, check out Nolan Clay's big article in today's Oklahoman. He reported that a former legislative aide – Hollie Anne Bishop – was secretly paid $44,500 in state money to settle a sexual harassment claim against sleazeball State Rep Dan Kirby (pictured above / left).

Here's a snippet:

A fired legislative assistant and her attorneys were secretly paid $44,500 in state funds in November to settle her sexual harassment complaint against a state representative from Tulsa, records show.

Hollie Anne Bishop, 28, complained Rep. Dan Kirby, 58, began sexually harassing her shortly after she started working for him in January 2015. She complained she was fired without explanation on Nov. 20, 2015, in retaliation for reporting the harassment.

She accepted a $28,414.20 payment, online records show. Her Edmond attorneys accepted a $16,085.80 payment.

The payments appear to have come from taxpayer funds meant to operate the state House of Representatives. The payments were made Nov. 22 after Kirby, a Republican, won re-election, the records show.

Yeah, that's not surprising. As we reported in 2015, Kirby once got into a fist fight at the Barrel with a fellow lawmaker. Apparently they were fighting over a different legislative aide... or the keys to the Blue House. I'm not sure which one.

In Nolan's article, he spends a lot of time reporting on the secrecy of the settlement, where the money came from, who approved it, etc. You know, good journalistic stuff that the public needs to know about. He even included a random tidbit about Bishop's work history at the Capitol.

Bishop first became a legislative assistant at the Capitol in January 2013. She worked for Rep. Randy Grau before becoming Kirby's legislative assistant. Grau is no longer in the House.

Yeah, that's nice and everything, but what Nolan fails to mention – probably due to his publisher wanting to protect friends in the GOP – is that Grau (pictured above / right) and Bishop were allegedly engaged in a very serious affair...

According to the Ogle Mole Network, the affair was a well-known "secret" at the Capitol. It lasted two or three years, and was serious enough that Grau filed for divorce back in May. He apparently had second thoughts, though, and dumped Bishop, dropped divorce proceedings, and is now trying to reconcile with his wife and family.

Anyway, I'm not telling you this because I care about the sex lives of grown adults. I'm kind over that. Sleep with who you want. I really don't care. The reason I'm sharing it is because...

A) It exposes the hypocrisy of our self-righteous, holier-than-thou, horndog elected officials who run on family values platforms.

B) It provides another motive as to why House leadership was so eager to resolve Bishop's sexual harassment allegations as quickly and quietly as possible.

C) It helps reinforce our new reputation as an online tabloid. We have an image to maintain!

Anyway, I guess we'll follow this story and provide more info. If you know of any affairs at the capitol, or were sexually harassed by Dan Kirby, contact us today.
