Tulsa has found its Sweet Brown…

Michelle Dobyne

On Sunday morning, a fire broke out at the Casa Linda apartment complex in North Tulsa. News on 6 photojournalist Ethan Pierce was one of the first people on the scene. He quickly went to work looking for damage to film or a loud, boisterous African-American woman to interview and exploit.

Well, it looks like Ethan's hard work and dedication paid off. Meet Michelle Dobyne. She put on her favorite M&M's jacket, drank a cold pop, and provided the following interview that will someday be in the Oklahoma Viral Video Hall of Fame.

Check it out:

Casa Linda Apartments interviewYou never know who you will run into covering the news of the day. News On 6 photojournalist Ethan Pierce met a lady named Michelle Dobyne this morning. Her description of a fire at the Casa Linda Apartments...is incredible.

Heh, that was cool. Sure, Michelle is kind of the Stone Temple Pilots to Sweet Brown's Pearl Jam, but I'll admit I laughed the first 10 or so times I watched the clip. She'll do great as the next 1-800-2-SellHomes spokesperson. I can't wait to see her in A Madea Easter.

That being said, didn't the whole thing feel a bit contrived on both ends? First of all, there's really no news value in the clip. The only reason News on 6 shared it was because they knew it would go viral. Also, doesn't something about Michelle seem suspicious? As her amazing M&Ms jacket proves, she seemed a bit too ready to be on live TV. At the end of the clip, I expected her to drop the name of her YouTube channel and the contact information for her agent. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if word comes out that she's the one who started the fire, knowing the media would come out and give her the 15-minutes of fame she desired! Ain't nobody got time for that!
