The severe weather arms race is heating up.
Yesterday, David Payne unveiled a new power board prototype that he will use to try to track tornadoes during Severe Weather season. At least that's what we can assume. Here's a video of him testing the device around the News 9 offices.
Ever wanted to see David Payne ride a power board? Look no further. The weather pattern has been a little quiet around here lately.

Yeah, it's official. Being the Chief Meteorologist for News 9 has totally changed David Payne. The old KFOR Storm Chasin' David Payne that drove inside a tornado would never be that cautious. He didn't fear injury or death. He would have been at the skateboard park in Edmond with Matt Hoffman trying some railslides, ollies and kickflips. He wouldn't have been worried about falling down or hitting the water cooler with his knee. It's funny how going from foot soldier to general can change a man.
Here's a sneak peek of how it will work in the field. I think the device will also shoot lasers.
Anyway, I talked to my sources and they've told me the new prototype is still a few years away from being launched. News 9 engineers still need to figure out a way to make the shoes fly, and the News 9 sales team still needs to find a Bob to sponsor it.
