On May 14th, this obscure local social blog will officially turn four years old. To celebrate, we are throwing a birthday party at the Speakeasy. And it's not just any birthday party, but a costume party inspired by this generation's best filmmaker: Quentin Tarantino.
Here's the poster:
Yeah, should be fun. Please come out if you can. Some notes:
• For the contest, you can dress up as any character from any movie that Tarantino was basically involved with. That includes the mainstream flicks that he directed (like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds), wrote (True Romance & Natural Born Killers) or was associated with (Four Rooms & Dusk Till Dawn).
• Pretty sure that Cardboard Jim needs to be the Gimp. If you happen to know how to make gimp costumes and will make Cardboard Jim one, please let us know. There will be no questions asked as to why or how you know how to make these costumes.
• Huge thanks to the 51st Street Speakeasy for letting us host the party at their place and for dishing out the awesome prize money. From sponsoring our radio show on the Spy to letting us host Trivia on Tuesdays, Kevin, Jeff and the rest of the gang at the Speak have always been good to us . Thanks guys.
• This party is being done in the spirit of art and fun, and is in no way associated with or endorsed by the world's best filmmaker and any of the big powerful corporations associated with his films.
Anyway, here is the Facebook event page . If you want to invite friends, feel free. Hope to see you there!
