Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

Ideally, your weekend plan is set and you're bailing early on work – headed for that perfect mix of adventure and restoration. But if the week went sideways and you forgot to plan for fun, we can help.

Here are a few things happening around town this weekend.

Farmers Market at Scissortail Park Spring Preview
Sat., April 11 | 9AM-1PM | Scissortail Park

Oh, how I've missed you! This Saturday is the season opening of the Farmers Market at Scissortail Park. The Veggie Valet is set to continue this year, so you have no excuse not to load up on local produce and buy even more cactus you don’t need from that cute plant guy. But none of those things are necessary – just strolling around with a coffee, telling your kid no in the sunshine, is enough.

Hell’s Kitchen – The Alicia Keys Jukebox Musical
All weekend | Various showtimes | Civic Center Music Hall

This weekend is your last chance to catch Hell’s Kitchen in OKC – it’s the high-energy short-run hit that “easily stands out as one of the rare must-sees in a crowded season” (The New York Times). Alicia Keys’ songs carry her own coming-of-age story, set in ‘90s NYC, with the kind of powerhouse vocals Broadway does best.

OKC Whiskey Festival
Sat., April 11 | 6-9PM | Harn Homestead

It’s the OKC Whiskey Festival… or as Patrick calls it, just a regular Thursday afternoon with the guys. If you love to sniff, sip and swap notes about the brown stuff, this could be fun for Saturday. Expect 30-50+ distilleries, unlimited tastings, and a very different crowd by 9 p.m. than the one you walked in with. Pace yourself, drink lots of water, and skip out before the end.

-

Family Plant Potting 101 Workshop
Sat., April 11 | 2-3PM | Myriad Botanical Gardens

The family that gardens together stays together (just kidding, mine sure didn't)! If you’re down to get your hands dirty on Saturday, this wholesome workshop for kids and grownups is an easy afternoon plan. You’ll learn how to pot and care for a plant — and maybe discover a new family pastime. Registration required, $15 per person.

Art in Bloom 2026 – Floral Sculpture Showcase
All weekend | Museum hours | OKC Museum of Art

It’s the annual festival of flowers – an important fundraiser for the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Tonight's rooftop cocktail party is sold out, but you can enjoy the showcase all weekend long.

Expect elaborate floral interpretations of works from the museum’s permanent collection, crafted by designers from across Oklahoma. I’m making a blind bet that A Date With Iris has the wildest work.
