Chode Boy Mourns Latest Supreme Court Loss…

One of the few remaining Christian Nationalist achievements of the Ryan Walters administration has been killed with no chance of resurrection!

Earlier this week, the Oklahoma Supreme Court officially blocked and overturned the implementation of the “patriotic” social studies and history standards Ryan tried to sneak through the State Board of Education over the summer.

You know, the ones that forced schools to teach Bible stories as history, and Trump’s dubious lies about the 2020 presidential election as fact.

Here are the details via Oklahoma Voice:

Controversial academic standards for social studies are unenforceable because Oklahoma’s top school board violated state open meeting laws when approving them, the state Supreme Court decided Tuesday…

Members of the Oklahoma State Board of Education and the public didn’t receive adequate notice from a meeting agenda that the board’s Feb. 27 vote would involve standards that were “fundamentally different” from an earlier draft, according to the opinion written by Justice James E. Edmondson. This violated the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Court decided…

Social studies standards approved in 2019 will remain in effect while the state Education Department develops a new version, under the Court’s order.

That’s awesome! Although they're becoming as politicized as others, the Judicial branch has always been my favorite not-so-co-equal twig of government, and this proves why!

Sure, they were able to skate by on a technicality and two judges terrifyingly wanted to let the rules take effect, but it’s nice to see there is still some sanity left near and around NW 23rd and Lincoln. Kudos to the judges who showed common sense. I can’t wait to see how much money the OCPA whips up in an effort to oust them.

On the topic of right-wing religious zealots, Ryan naturally ran out to his car to film a video complaining about the ruling. Even though he openly flaunted open meetings laws to sneak through his Christian Nationalist revisionist history lessons, he blamed the court’s decision on a tried-and-true classic – left-wing judicial activism.

Check out this piece of shit:

Yikes! Did someone switch up the standard shampoo and conditioner for Pert Plus? Did he just roll out of bed? I guess the Teacher Freedom Alliance can’t afford a staffer to keep his hair fluffy like the state apparently did.

In other news, isn’t that great!

I’ve been forced to watch enough Ryan Walters to know when he’s genuine and when he’s faking it – watch for his smirk – and you can tell this one really hurt him. He really thought he was going to be successful, and the Supreme Court smacked him around like a trans kid being bullied. I bet that’s the same strained, sweaty look he had on his face when that nude scene played in the school board meeting, or the first time he watched Corey DeAngelis act on film!

Anyway, I’d like to go ahead and thank the Oklahoma judicial branch for employing sanity, following open meetings laws, and thwarting – at least this time around – the Christian Nationalist attempt to overrun and commandeer our public school system. Stay with The Lost Ogle. We’ll keep you advised.
