I’ve got some good news for all my fellow humans out there!
Governor Stitt finally cares about us… and our potential to be exploited and controlled by American industry and enterprise!
Last week, Ole’ Stitter launched the Human Potential for Future Industries Task Force.
Although it sounds like something ripped from the pages of 1984, Brave New World, or the Chinese Communist Party handbook, the goal of the task force isn’t to try to figure out how to mass-produce human slave labor for the benefit of our future tech AI overlords.
Well, at least not yet.
Stitt has actually charged the task force with revitalizing and revamping our state’s public education system to, uhm, do many of the same things our state’s public education system is already doing.
Here's a list from the press release:
• Identifying tools to develop student talents early and align them with workforce opportunities.
• Researching and recommending ways to individualize and tailor curricula to the strength of the student while utilizing holistic teaching methodologies.
• Collaborating with industries, community organizations, and educational institutions for students to gain practical experiences and define essential soft skills students need for future success.
• Expanding learning models by leaning into apprenticeships, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities.
• Evaluating teacher preparation by identifying upskilling needs within the teacher pipeline from K-12 through higher education.
I know I’m not a right-wing, anti-government centi-millionaire who’s looking to defund and privatize public education so my grifter buddies and I can replace it with new for-profit schools – and, better yet, provide loans to them – but I’m pretty sure those are all things our public schools are already doing.
Like, is Stitt aware the schools have guidance counselors, vo-tech programs, and workforce apprenticeship programs?
At the very least, someone has told him about Oklahoma Edge, right?
It’s the program implemented by Joy Hofmeister that aims to “sculpt Oklahoma’s future workforce by connecting with fellow educators, parents, students, business leaders, and community members.” I think Stitt may have even signed some of the bills that helped create and fund it!
In an effort to save time and resources, can someone just send Stitt a link to the Edge website? He’s admitted multiple times over the years that he’s not a fan of government bureaucracy, so why create a task force to do work that’s already been done? This is the political equivalent of scheduling a meeting to review what was covered in the last meeting!
Here’s what Stitt said about the task force:
“We’re building the best workforce in the nation, and that means reimagining education to focus more on real-world experience and individual strengths of students in preparation for tomorrow’s industry needs. Investing in Oklahomans always pays off, because it’s Oklahomans who make our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Did you catch that?
Kevin Stitt – the governor who fights hard to cut state spending and services to provide tax breaks for wealthy people – now thinks that “investing in Oklahomans always pays off!”
Did he specifically ask his PR team to craft a quote that totally contradicts his political views and actions as governor, or is he losing his mind? What’s he going to do next? Invite PETA out for Oklahoma Vegan Week?!
Naturally, Stitt appointed Oklahoma Secretary of Education Nellie Sanders – wife of Oklahoma broadband czar Mike Sanders – to lead the task force.
“The current educational model isn’t built for the future, it’s barely built for the present. Our system isn’t tapping into the potential of every student, that’s what we’re setting out to change. Artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies can offer Oklahoma students a learning advantage.”
Yep, that’s right. They’re going to teach students how to use A.I. and virtual reality.
Basically, Ryan Walters’ greatest fear is coming true – Oklahoma schools are going to teach students how to make porn!
In all fairness, there are other uses for A.I. and V.R. outside of porn, but I do wonder what Ryan Walters thinks about Nellie being put in charge of the task force.
I bet he’s running out to his tan SUV right now to make a video vlog decrying the task force as nothing more than a George Soros-Joe Biden-backed creation of the woke drag queen teachers' union mob!
Okay, I'm kidding. Ryan would never double-cross Stitt, but I’d say that Ryan and his culture war rhetoric is more responsible for the creation of this task force than anything else.
Although it’s inspired the right-wing crazies and I bet Stitt likes it, Ryan's crusade has been nothing short of a political dumpster fire, drawing all the wrong kinds of attention – and investigations – into both him and Governor Stitt.
The backlash has been loud, messy, and—surprise!—not exactly popular.
Now, it seems like Stitt is trying to quietly hit the reset button, and with Nellie Sanders, to find a new wolf to put in sheep's clothing and send to school.
Basically, with this new Human Potential for Future Industries Task Force, it’s like he’s hoping to change the conversation from "Why is this psycho clown running our schools?" to "look, we’re innovating education with task force names that would make a Communist proud!"
With the help of our lemming media, it looks like this approach can work:
As opposed to our local media, I'd advise that you not be fooled by the soft rebranding.
Although the styles and words may be different, the goals of Stitt's task force and those of Ryan Walters are the same…undermine, privatize, and sabotage Oklahoma public schools from the inside.
The only difference is Stitt figured out that blowing things up à la Walters has created a massive backlash and isn’t working, so he's trying the stealth approach, something that I'm sure will make our future sinister AI overlords proud.
Stay with The Lost Ogle. We’ll keep you advised.
