Man Who Makes Oklahoma Highway Sign Poles is Proud Today

Earlier this morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shared a photo of a physics-defying wreck on I-35 in Ardmore.

Apparently, some truck driver forgot he was raising his trailer while cruising down the highway.

The trailer then hit a highway overpass sign placed on some super bionic space-age steel, and, well, check this out. It’s already going viral in the Facebook echo chamber:

Geez, Oklahoma sucks at a lot of things, but give ODOT credit for making the strongest and most durable highway signs in the world!

Seriously, that’s impressive stuff. When an alien civilization discovers the ruins of our society in a hundred thousand years or so, I bet the only things they find will be non-biodegradable plastics and Oklahoma highway signs.

"Apparently, these primitive mammalian creatures built various monuments and offerings to a god of transportation named I-35."

Honestly, I bet whoever built that pole is walking around today like they have the biggest dick in the world. Coincidentally, the truck driver who hit the overpass is probably walking around like they have the smallest.

I don’t have a CDL, and the only thing I know about semis, big rigs, and 18-wheelers is that they get in my way. But how do you not notice that you’re raising the trailer? Was the driver on his phone like most truck drivers, or was he simply daydreaming that he was Furiosa fighting off a rabid band of War Boys? We need answers, please!

Anyway, it appears the only photo of the accident is the one shared by OHP. If you have one, please send it our way.
