Earlier this week, I was driving around town minding my own business when I spotted a casino billboard near the Belle Isle bridge. Upon my quick first glance, I thought it was promoting a concert for an Ogle brother.
“Has the KFOR house band made it to the tribal casino circuit now?” I wondered.
But after my vision came into focus and I read the copy, I learned it was actually promoting a concert for famed bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder.
I can’t name you one of his songs, but as we’ve mentioned in the past, Ricky Skaggs shares a striking, and somewhat eerie, resemblance to the Ogle Clan that dominates the Oklahoma TV news airwaves.
In fact, he looks so much like the Ogles that I wonder if he could be a descendant of the lost Ogle prophet mentioned in the ancient teleprompter scrolls. They claim a young Ogle descendant by the name of Keith went missing in the foothills of Kentucky in the late 1920s during an early family scouting expedition to locate lost b-roll newsreel footage.
According to local legend, this Ogle was adopted by mountain people as their own, where he taught them ways of annunciation, athletics, and arts of astute 90-second editorial observations, before raising his own family of Kentucky giants.
Could Ricky Skaggs be one of his descendants and a true Lost Ogle?
I have no clue, but since I’m on a quasi-vacation this week and I’m in need of some mindless, easy to produce content, I thought it would be fun to do a pictorial quiz to see if you can spot the difference between Ricky Skaggs or an Ogle.
