Wife of prominent Norman attorney finally charged in near-fatal DUI crash…

We’ve acquired footage of Sara Polston scorching down a Norman street in her Escalade just seconds before critically injuring a 20-year-old woman in a violent crash...

In today’s edition of TLO’s irregular series – Lifestyles of the Rich and Locally Infamous – we take a trip to Norman and take a look at a violent and horrific DUI-related car crash caused by Sara Polston – the 41-year-old wife of famed local tax attorney Rod Polston.

Back in February, Sara made the news when she got hammered, ran several stop signs while speeding through a Norman neighborhood in her giant Escalade, and then crashed into 20-year-old Micaela Borrego at a residential intersection. The reason for Sara’s hurry? She was running late to pick up her kids.

Thanks to the Ogle Mole Network, we’ve acquired doorbell camera footage of Sara’s blitzkrieg through the neighborhood. You can see her speeding through a stop sign at a high rate of speed, and then a few seconds later, hear the loud and violent sounds of the crash...

Although Sara was able to walk away from the accident with little more than a bad hangover, Micaela was left clinging to life in the hospital. She suffered a broken pelvis, stroke and was in a coma. She still cannot verbally communicate with her family and is facing a long, painful, and very expensive road to full recovery. For more information, and to provide financial support for her and her family, here’s a link to a Go Fund Me.

Someone who doesn’t need your financial support, however, is Sara Polston.

As I mentioned earlier, she’s the wife of famous local tax attorney Rod Polston. Not to be confused with Travis Watkins, you’ve probably seen or heard his name in numerous TV and radio commercials over the years. These commercials apparently work, because Rod Polston’s firm now employs over 100 people in the Norman area, and he and Sara share this $2.9-million mansion in Norman:

Sara has a pretty limited social media presence, but she does have a Twitter account.

When she’s not drunkenly speeding down quiet, residential neighborhoods in order to secure a front-row spot in the school pick-up line, she’s liking and consuming right-wing conspiracy theories that warn us of the real threats to the world.

Check out a few of the tweets she’s liked from her account since the crash that nearly took the life of Micaela Borrego. Most of them come from the "Illuminatibot" account.

Yikes! She was probably in such a hurry to pick up her kids because she was worried satanic liberal pedo celebs were going to get there first!

Here’s another one:

On the topic of people who couldn’t care less if you die or suffer a horrible death, we should probably add the drugged-up, Botoxed, affluent lady who soars through residential areas at 68mph while ignoring all stop signs.

Seriously, how’s that for some twisted irony? While her victim learns how to walk and talk again, Sara – the real threat to society – is spending her free time scrolling through Twitter, spreading and peddling conspiracy theories about all the made-up, non-existent threats to the world.

Despite nearly killing someone due to her own negligent and reckless behavior, it took nearly five months for Norman PD to charge Polston with a DUI with Great Bodily Injury. One month later, she turned herself in and was quickly released on a $100,000 bond.

Although she’s free right now to lounge around her mansion liking conspiracy theories on Twitter, Sara is likely facing a prison sentence if found guilty.

I asked my pal John Hunsucker with OKDUI.com his thoughts on the case, and this is what he said:

“If found guilty, she’s facing anywhere from 4 - 20 years in prison, but a skillful attorney will likely challenge legal issues and provide mitigation like treatment and counseling, which has the possibility of resulting in a lesser sentence.”

Considering she has the money to hire skillful attorneys, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sara mitigate her way to a lighter sentence. If so, let’s hope it leads to an awakening where she discovers the real threats to the world.

Anyway, we wish Micaela the best of luck in her recovery from this horrific crime. If you'd like to contribute to her Go Fund Me, you can do so here.
