Report: Ryan Walters not good speller

He’s definitely the guy to address our state’s low spelling scores.

Yesterday afternoon, in what feels like a contrived effort to get us to write about him yet again, Ryan Walters got out his dry-erase board, put on his MAGA hat, and hopped in his SUV to film a hype video before attending a rally for Governor Kevin Stitt in Tulsa.

What could go wrong with that?

Well, apparently a lot.

Check out the video below. From “top to down,” it’s one of the dumbest and most fitting things I’ve ever watched, and says everything you need to know about the numbskull we know as Ryan Walters…

Yep, that’s real.

The guy running for State School Superintendent in Oklahoma misspelled both “Sanctuary” and “Cities” in a crazed rant about the (sarcasm alert) always-important state public education topic of “Sanctuary Cities.”

In all fairness to Ryan, dry-erase boards don’t come with spellcheck (yet), but you’d think the guy who wants to be in charge of public education in Oklahoma would be smart enough to catch such obvious spelling errors.

Just kidding. We’d never expect something smart from him.

I guess after he shared the video on Twitter, a few people pointed out to Ryan that he should probably be taking literacy courses at the local library instead of running for public office.

He then deleted the video, corrected his spelling mistakes, and filmed another one. Outside of referring to Joy Hofmeister as Joe, I guess he nailed it:

That’s a lot better. It’s nice to know we have a candidate running for State School Superintendent who’s focused on issues that don’t really don’t affect public education, and is brave enough to fix his incredibly stupid spelling errors.

Anyway, I guess we’ll continue watching Ryan’s videos to see what he lies about or screws up next.
