We'd like to offer our best wishes, and condolences, to former Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter and current Oklahoma Insurance Department general counsel Kim (Bailey) Hunter!
Thanks to the Ogle Mole Network, we've learned that the love birds officially tied the knot back in late February, just six months after Kim's divorce from her husband was finalized.
Here's the OSCN Entry:
For those who may have forgotten, Mike suddenly resigned as Oklahoma Attorney General back in May, just 10 minutes after we first reported he was divorcing his wife of 40 years following a steamy affair with Kim.
Here's what we had to say at the time:
According to the Ogle Mole Network, Mike and Kim became very close and developed a deep friendship when they worked at the AG’s office together. They would apparently “text each other all the time,” and, well, we know how that usually works out.
“So what, Patrick! People have affairs with co-workers all the time! What’s the big deal!”
Not to take anything away from Bailey and her professional accomplishments climbing the government ladder, but there’s the question of whether or not Hunter had an influence on Bailey’s rapid rise through the Oklahoma bureaucratic ranks. AGs are supposed to be trustworthy and impartial and have ethics, and that’s a hard thing to do when you’re helping your married mistress get good, well-paying government jobs.
Mike and Kim's affair caused quite a bit of chatter in Oklahoma government and legal circles, especially after we also first reported that Hunter's decision to indict former Stitt cabinet member and Burger King franchisee David Ostrow on bribery charges may have been influenced by petty bad blood between Kim and David.
Rumors are now circulating through the Ogle Mole Network (and Oklahoma Political Gossip Scene) that Hunter’s indictment of Stitt cabinet member David Ostrowe – another former Burger King franchisee – could have been politically motivated.
I guess Hunter and Stitt don’t like each other, and there’s also a long, weird history between Ostrowe and Bailey due to the Burger King connection. As a result, Ostrowe basically blocked Bailey from being promoted late last year. In retaliation for that, Hunter allegedly led the effort to indict Ostrowe for bribery.
Not too long after we reported that, Hunter dropped the bribery charges against Ostrowe. Ostrowe has since sued the state for over $60-million.
Anyway, we sincerely wish Mike and Kim a long and fruitful marriage filled with love, happiness, and fidelity. We've looked long and hard to see if they have a wedding registry or any photos, but came up empty-handed. That being said, we will happily share anything that lands on the Ogle Mole Tip Line.
Stay with The Lost Ogle. We'll keep you advised.
