I'm not going to lie, it's been a pretty weird start of the year at The Lost Ogle. We've had some big ups, and in some ways, things haven't been better in this digital realm, but we've also had some pretty terrible downs.
On that note, I've had a busy up-and-down week and have a lot of stuff going on today, so here's a little round-up of news items and tidbits that caught my eye this week.
"Why does the state make rules for us, but not for themselves? And why don't they leave this to cities and counties to determine for themselves?" - OKC assistant manager Kenton Tsoodle https://t.co/un4j4rps5I

• More Guns Coming to the Fair
Is it a good thing to allow guns at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma™. I don't think so, but then again, it would probably help lower the annual number of State Fair stabbings.

• OU football writer Jason Kersey to leave crowded field of sports journalism for more lucrative crowded field of law!
THREAD: So, I have some news: I’ve decided to step down from The Athletic and from sports journalism. Tomorrow is my last day. I’ll be taking some time off and starting law school in the fall.

We wish him the best in his new endeavors and will hopefully get him on the podcast soon to talk all about it.
• State Lawmaker Sean Bennett wants to jail school administrators who enforce public health mandates.
KOCO has a good video about it here:
Three takeaways:
1. Sean Roberts is crazy.
2. Mauree Turner should run for CD5.
3. TV reporters are getting younger.
Seriously, kudos to Channel 5 for scouring the best TV talent from Oklahoma middle schools. When did Storme Jones become the most senior news reporter on the scene and on the story?

Local journalism Twitter clique mourns loss of Dillon Richards and Jessica Bruno to Florida
On the topic of law school and newsfolks getting younger, KOCO's Dillon Richards and KFOR's Jessica Bruno – or as we called them, "Dillica" – moved to the sunny state of Florida. He's going to law school, while I think Jessica's staying in media.
Here's her sign-off:
For the last time, thanks for being here. ❤️

You'll be in great hands with @OgleKatelyn! pic.twitter.com/FRrJYmsJWj
At the end of the clip, Jessica mentions she'll be replaced by another Ogle – Fair Katelyn from House Kevin, maiden of the stormlands, sister of Abigail, and Lady of the family keep at Mt. Rant.
If you think our country's divided, imagine what goes on in the Ogle clan? How do they not have a reality show...yet.

Dumb Right-Wing Enid Pastor-Politician Says Stupid Things
We can add pastor Wade Burleson to the never-ending list of GOP congressional candidates who compare vaccine mandates to Nazi Germany: "I know enough about history to know that after WWII, we hung Nazi doctors who took Jews and injected shots in them without their permission." pic.twitter.com/jHrATRLXT3
— Right Wing Watch (@RightWingWatch) March 2, 2022
I've watched the video, and I can say with 100% certainty, Wade Burleson is stupid.

Josh Giddey is the Australian Magic Johnson
It's not a perfect analogy. Giddey doesn't have the speed and athleticism of Magic, but they're both freakishly tall point guards who see the court in a different dimension, toss bullet passes like nothing, and, well, can't shoot. Just watch this video and you see the similarity. Will Giddey go down as one of the greatest players ever? No, but I can't wait to see what he does in OKC before breaking our heart and leaving during free agency in six or seven years.

Hey, when I start posting K-Pop stuff, it's probably time to call it a week. See ya.
