State Senate Candidate Holds Press Conference To Deny He’s In The KKK…

The guy pictured above is Paul Blair. He's a former OSU football player, vending machine mogul, pastor and advanced level 9 Derplahoman nutjob with political views that are so extreme they make Sally Kern wet.

In 2012, Blair unsuccessfully ran for Senate District 41 as a Republican on an anti-gay, anti-muslim, anti-government, anti-everything tea party platform. Undeterred by rejection, he's once again seeking the same senate seat and will face a runoff election in August.

To show he's the man Edmond voters should elect as their next State Senator, Blair held a press conference yesterday inside the capitol to accuse his Republican run-off opponent, Adam Pugh, of circulating photoshopped images of Blair in a Klu Klux Klan robe.

Via News 9:

A Republican candidate for Oklahoma state Senate District 41 accuses his opponent and his opponent’s supporters of slander.

Paul Blair squares off against Adam Pugh in the Republican primary run-off on August 23.

Blair — who’s a long-time Edmond Baptist Church pastor — said Pugh and his supporters have been circulating a photoshopped image of Blair in a Klu Klux Klan robe.

Blair said Pugh’s supporters have also posted on social media that he has ties to Kansas’ Westboro Baptist Church.

“These kind of baseless vile accusations can destroy a man’s reputation forever. And can destroy the reputation of a church forever,” Blair said Monday afternoon from the fourth floor press room inside the Oklahoma state Capitol.

News 9 went to Adam Pugh’s home in Edmond about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

His wife answered, and said her husband was at work.

Pugh called about 9 p.m. and said any linking of  Paul Blair to the KKK are "disgusting," and he didn't do it.

Isn't that reassuring? I know when I cast my ballot, I always vote for the guy who had to hold a press conference denying he's been photographed wearing a KKK robe. They're always winners.

That being said, why's Paul blaming his opponent for the photos? They've been making the Internet rounds for years! I first heard about them in 2013 when an Ogle Mole sent them our way. Check them out:

To be very clear, I have no clue if those images are legit. Even if they are, there's no way to confirm its Paul Blair. Because of that, I never published the pics on the site. Well, until now. I guess we should thank Paul Blair for making them newsworthy.

Seriously, what the hell was he thinking? By addressing the pics, he's simply giving them more credibility and turning them into a bigger distraction. Considering how bat shit crazy he is on social issues, perhaps that's part of his master plan. Maybe he thinks they'll get him more votes. Considering we're in Oklahoma, they probably and sadly will.
