KFOR’s News Director is leaving…

Meg Alexander has a good excuse to celebrate!

We have learned through the Ogle Mole Network that the tumultuous reign of KFOR News Director Carlton Houston is ending. According to sources, he resigned on Monday to take the Assistant News Director gig at WUSA CBS-9 in Washington DC. Here's what he had to say about the news:

"I honestly can't wait to move to legitimate media market where ratings are not driven by weather fear and hype. I've worked in many media markets over the years, and none are as a bad as Oklahoma City. It's bush league. Hopefully I never have to say Ogle again in my life."

Okay, I made that up, but I'm sure that's what he was thinking.

Normally, this is the part of the post where I cite a news article from another source. Since that source doesn't exist, let's take a look at some new photos that Marla Morgan recently sent to us. She wanted us to know that just like Joleen Chaney, she's also doing okay:

Thanks Marla! We appreciate all the emails and photos. Please continue sending them our way. Next time, can you send us one on a train?

Anyway, I'm sure the employees at KFOR are throwing a huge going away party this weekend to celebrate this news. Sadly, I doubt Carlton will be there. From what I've heard, he wasn't the most popular guy in the KFOR news bunker. During his reign, there was a mass exodus of employees and news reporters. I guess they didn't like his management style, his hiring practices (apparently this was limited to hiring fish-out-of-water news reporters to learn TV news on the spot), or they were simply fired (see Alexander, Meg).

As of now, I have no clue who is going to replace Carlton as news director. Just like when Mary Ann Eckstein was let go in 2013, I'd like to officially throw my hat into the ring as the replacement. Give me an Ogle, a helicopter and a squadron of Social Media Bandits and I'll turn KFOR into a ratings leader in no time. My first order of business would be to eliminate Freedom 43 and just turn it into a 24/7 live cam of Emily Sutton's house. My second order of business would be to make Kevin Ogle wear a viking hat at all times. My third order of business would be to name Sweet Brown the co-host of News 4 at 4:30 with Linda Cavanaugh. Everyone would have time for that!
