In case you missed it, there was a wild police chase through the Penn Square Mall parking lot yesterday morning. We know this because a KJ-103 employee shot video of the chase from high atop 50 Penn Place or whatever it's called now.
Check it out:
That was fun to watch, although I would have liked it more had the driver sped into the parking garage and accidentally run over a rapist.
Also, what's up with our OKCPD? They had 30 cars after this a little red car in a mall parking lot and couldn't catch it? That's embarrassing. Did Roscoe Coltrane recently join the force? They made the driver of the little car look like a badass young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law. They made him look like a man who doesn't exist!
Okay, that was kind of over the top. My favorite thing about the chase is how our news media covered it. The KWTV News 9 Social Media Coordinator provided a detailed breakdown of the event, described how it unfolded, and gave us more information about the suspect.
Local radio station captures incredible video of police chase
A local radio station captured amazing video of a police chase that happened early Thursday morning.
Around 8:45 a.m., police officers were involved in a chase in northwest Oklahoma City.
The suspect reportedly shot at police officers.
Janet from KJ 103 started recording the chase as the suspect led police through the Penn Square Mall parking lot.
The suspect later crashed near the Belle Isle Walmart and was taken into custody.
Wow. This is like two Fridays in a row that KJ-103 has been mentioned on TLO. First a DJ drinks bleach at Genghis Grill, now we have Janet playing breaking news reporter. Maybe next week Ronnie Rocket will get in a bar fight with Joey from Wild over the best Justin Bieber song. That would be fun to watch.
