A couple of years ago, we were first on the scene and on the story to share exclusive Ring Doorbell footage of Sarah Polston – the Botoxed wife of prominent Oklahoma tax attorney Ron Polston – speeding through a Norman neighborhood at 68 MPH, just moments before slamming into a car driven by 20-year-old Micaela Borrego.
In case you need a terrifying reminder of how a drunk lunatic can change your life in a matter of seconds, here you go:
We’ve acquired footage of Sara Polston – wife of prominent Norman attorney Rod Polston – running stop signs while speeding down a Norman residential street in an SUV just seconds before crashing into a vehicle. When we covered the story back in 2023, Sarah was free on $100,000 bond while her victim, Micaela, was stuck in a hospital facing a long road of recovery, medical bills, and permanent brain damage.
It’s been over two years since that article, and despite our presumption that Sarah – like most wealthy people of privilege – would probably walk away from the situation with little more than a suspended sentence and probation, it looks like justice will finally be served.
After being formally charged with DUI and related offenses, Sarah ultimately pled guilty – a rare moment of accountability for someone in her tax bracket – back in October.
Then, this past Friday – just months after her plea – Sarah received a 15-year sentence, with all but eight of them suspended. According to mathematics, that means she’ll have to spend close to seven years in prison… well, at least until she uses her wealth, privilege, and the incompetence of the Oklahoma criminal justice system to get the time reduced.
Here’s the full KFOR report on the situation:
Listen. I don’t know what the appropriate punishment should be for permanently disabling a 20-year-old because you plowed into them at 68 mph while driving high and drunk through a neighborhood in a small tank on your way to pick up your kids from school, but I’d say eight years in prison and a $5 million settlement is a good place to start. I’d take that over everything Micaela is having to endure!
On that note, I’ve been in touch with a friend of Micaela’s family.
Although the family is grateful for the judge’s decision, they say it’s truly impossible to put a dollar figure on the care she will need for the remainder of her life, and the impact it will have on her family and caretakers. As a result, I’d like to encourage you to be a good mole, send good vibes Micaela’s way, and support her GoFundMe. It’s the least we can do, right?
In the meantime, I hope Sarah Polston’s sentence sticks and she enjoys her time in prison. Specifically, I hope she spends many late nights in her cold cell thinking about what she did, the devastation she caused, and the families she shattered. Who knows? Maybe if we’re lucky she’ll even emerge a changed, better person, and not a continued threat to society.
Stay with The Lost Ogle. We’ll keep you advised.
