Here’s some cool news to report! Oklahoma nearly made it to October without an educator getting in trouble for drinking around students!
In case you missed it, Bixby High School principal Mickey Replogle was recently fired after he was arrested on public detox charges at the school’s fall jubilee dance.
According to media reports, Replogle—who we shall now call "The Rumple Ogle"—was apparently super hammered and allegedly “inappropriately touched” some students. Via News on 6:
Tulsa police arrested Bixby High School Principal Mickey Replogle for public intoxication during the school's fall dance. He has since bonded out of jail. Bixby Public Schools released a statement indicating that multiple reports alleged Replogle smelled of alcohol and engaged in inappropriate touching of several students
Geeze, where were the chaperones during all this? Did nobody tell them they’re supposed to monitor the teachers, principals, and coaches, as well as the students?!
“Inappropriately touching students” is a strong, albeit vague, accusation. What exactly did he do? Was he stumbling into students on stage while attempting the guitar solo from “Johnny B. Goode,” or did he get a little too handsy with a 17-year-old during “Earth Angel”?
Okay, those are some pretty serious accusations, but they are just accusations. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the video to surface on social media. That has to happen, right? We live in an era where nearly every bizarre interaction between students and teachers gets recorded and shared online, so if the school principal was at the dance with his pants down, something tells me a kid recorded it.
On the topic of recording things, Ryan Walters hasn’t shared a car video vlog about the controversy yet.
That's surprising. He and Bixby Public Schools superintendent Rob Miller get along as well as alcohol abuse and good judgment, so you think Ryan would have tried to exploit or escalate the controversy in an attempt to gain the upper hand in their feud.
He’s probably just been too busy making the rounds on national media to talk about putting the Bible in schools:
Anyway, I guess we’ll continue to monitor this situation and provide updates. Stay with The Lost Ogle. We’ll keep you advised.
