Here at The Lost Ogle, we occasionally like to help out our friends in the local news media. We do this because we're nice people and enjoy "paying it forward" to those who provide us with so much material.
That's why when Emily Sutton placed a Craigslist ad for a new couch a couple of years ago, we helped spread the word and find a buyer. And it's why we've decided to do the very same thing for Bree Steffen. The KOCO General Assignment reporter is moving to a new apartment and needs to sell a washer and dryer.
Here's a post about it from Bree's Facebook page. It was sent to us via the Ogle Mole Network:
I'm not 100% sure when the screenshot was taken, but the CraigsList listing is still online. That probably means they're still available. I don't think you can say the same for this couch:
I couldn't find the listing for the couch. It was probably snagged up by a grandmother who likes big pillows.
Here are a few more pics of the washer and dryer:
If you're like me, you probably have some questions like: "$300? For both? Seriously? Do they come with a steam setting? Does the washer auto-dispense fabric softener? Are they under an extended warranty? I hope not, because those things are a ripoff."
I decided to hit Bree up on Twitter to get some answers. Sadly, I was greeted by this:
Yep, we've been blocked by Bree Steffen on Twitter. That's almost as shocking as expecting someone to pay $300 for a used washer and dryer set.
Seriously, what's up with the blockage? Who does she think she is... Gary England? I thought we were always nice to Bree. Is it something we wrote? Probably? Okay, makes sense.
Anyway, when I saw that Bree had blocked us, I figured that maybe Bree doesn't want to be bothered and that we should just leave her alone and not write about her washer and dryer, but then I realized the only way to win back Bree's trust and respect and to be unblocked is to help her sell that washer and dryer. So have at it, Moles. Buy that washer and dryer for Bree, and for us.
