Maybe these “Forty Under 40” lists aren’t such a good idea…

OKCBusiness released their annual "Forty under 40" issue this week. Let me tell you, I'm starting to think these "Forty under 40" lists aren't a good idea.

First of all, there are too many of them...especially locally. The Journal Record has their "Achievers Under 40" and Oklahoma Magazine - which may just be the best magazine in the world - has a "Forty under 40", too. Hell, we've even heard The Oklahoman was considering a similar thing called "Forty Subscribers under 40" but that they couldn't find enough nominees (or the staff) to produce it.

Before you know it, we are going to run out of non-old people to put on these lists. And that may already be the case. None of the names on this year's list rang a bell, and if you look at past years you'll notice names like Brady Brus, Renzi Stone and Glenn Coffee. These people are achievers? Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2011 issue featured Clark Matthews, Brent Skarky and my ex-wife.

I am also a bit upset that my three nominations didn't make the list. Alexis, Raven and Destiny all work very very hard and have accomplished a whole lot more than any person on the current list. Plus they are all three excellent dancers. Who doesn't like a good dancer?

Anyway, after the jump I'm going to list all the people who made this year's OKCBusiness "Forty under 40" list. I'm doing this in hopes that when they get drunk and google their name that they'll be slightly alarmed. I'm also going to write that each person probably liked HoHo the Clown.
