Trump leaves rambling video address to Tulsa fairgoers…

8:52 AM EDT on October 1, 2026

On the eve of his debate-wrecking appearance in Durant, President Donald Trump released a special video message addressed to, as he put it, the “hard-working, freedom-loving patriots of the Tulsa State Fair.”

In the video – which serves as another terrifying reminder that we live in a reality where Donald Trump is president – Trump bragged to carnies, hot tub buyers and other fair attendees about his accomplishments, thanked multiple Oklahoma politicians, and shared his deep love for our fine state.

Check it out:

That’s right! Deep-fry an Oreo and buy a hot tub! Donald Trump loves us.

Well, at least that’s what he says.

It’s a little hard to take the guy’s overtures too seriously when the biggest token of affection he’s given Oklahoma so far is a new smelter. That’s like telling your wife you love her and then giving her a commercial-grade trash compactor for Valentine’s Day.

Also, isn’t it weird to live in a place supposedly loved by a man that “we” – i.e. me and a good chunk of our readers – dislike so much?

Obviously, Oklahoma is still Trump Country. Republicans dominate the state, and Trump won Oklahoma comfortably in 2024. But that doesn’t mean every Oklahoman is wearing a red hat, waving a Trump flag and whispering “thank you, sir” toward Mar-a-Lago before going to bed.

In fact, according to Civiqs, Trump’s approval rating in Oklahoma has steadily slid from around 62% at the beginning of his term to just 48% today, with 44% disapproving.

For all of Trump’s talk about how much he loves Oklahoma, the feeling apparently isn’t quite as mutual as it used to be.

Oh well. At least he still “loves” us.

For now.

Maybe if we’re lucky, next Valentine’s Day he’ll get us that nuclear power plant.
