Oklahoma Warriors Hockey Is OKC’s Best-Kept Sports Secret…

12:30 PM EDT on September 10, 2026

If you’ve ever driven past I-240 on I-35 and wondered what goes on at the Blazers Ice Centre, the answer is a lot of things. Birthday parties, skating lessons, skate sales… and Oklahoma Warriors Hockey, baby!

If you didn’t know Oklahoma City had a hockey team, you are not alone. Unless you are a hockey fan, it’s unlikely that you’d hear about them. While they do have a great website and an active social media presence, it doesn’t seem like they’ve been able to break into the awareness of the general public.

The Warriors, a North American Hockey League (NAHL) team, moved here from Wichita Falls for the 2022-2023 season and have been an absolutely good time guaranteed ever since.

Picture this: It’s Friday night. You pull up to the Blazers Ice Centre, and walk in, the scent of popcorn and hotdogs filling your nostrils. You grab a beer and turn right to find your seat. You immediately regret not bringing a blanket to sit on, because those metal bleachers are freezing. But you’re right there, mere feet from the plexiglass that separates you from the ice. You look around. Everyone’s wearing different hockey jerseys. Kids are holding onto rubber duckies they’ll throw on the ice every time the Warriors score. And as the players skate out onto the ice, the roar of the crowd is deafening.
