Urine Trouble: House Continues Investigation into Rep. Danny Williams

11:06 AM EDT on September 9, 2026

Back in July, the Oklahoma political viewing public was treated to a special non-session edition of “Oklahoma Lawmakers Behaving Badly” when the State House announced it launched an investigation into Rep. Danny Williams over “serious allegations” of “improper behavior.”

Remember that?

Not only were the lawmaker’s legislative assistant privileges revoked, but he was stripped of his committee chairmanships and moved from his fourth-floor Capitol office to a former supply closet on the fifth floor.

Since then, the story’s gone semi-dormant, but it kicked back into gear this week when members of the House Rules Committee spent more than eight hours behind closed doors reviewing the investigation, questioning Williams, and trying to figure out what, if anything, they’re going to do about him.

State Rep. Danny Williams, a Republican from Seminole, faced questions behind closed doors at the state Capitol Tuesday as two separate investigations into alleged misconduct continue.

Williams appeared before the House Rules Committee over a complaint alleging improper conduct toward a House employee this summer.

The closed-door hearing started at 9 a.m. and stretched well past 5 p.m.

Rules Committee Chairman Mike Osburn said Williams was made aware of the allegations against him and that the committee discussed possible disciplinary action ranging from expulsion to no action at all.

The details of the employee’s complaint have not been publicly released.
