What does the average TLO reader have in common with the MAGA freaks on the far right?
Neither of them likes Marcuswayne Mullin!
In case you haven't noticed, Mullin apparently pissed off the MAGAsphere last week when, in a rare moment of clarity, he made a surprisingly common-sense statement about immigration.
Basically, he acknowledged that America's immigration system needs reform and that immigrants can fill labor shortages in underemployed industries.
Here's what he said:
"This narrative that [immigration] steals American jobs is true in some industries. It's not true for all industries," Mullin said. "We want to take care of Americans first. It's our economy. It's our homeland, but there's a way to utilize labor."
If you're a normal person, that's a pretty innocuous statement. If you're part of the MAGA cult, however, it's apparently the first draft of the Great Replacement Act.
The right wing MAGA absolutely lost its mind over the statement, with many political influencers calling for Markwayne's immediate ouster. For example, check out what psychotic zombie lady Laura Loomer had to say:

She wasn't the only one calling for Marcuswayne's plunger!
Steve Bannon branded him an "amnesty advocate," Jack Posobiec claimed there was a "growing wave" within MAGA to replace him with someone more committed to deportations, and former Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino accused him of delivering a "masterclass in how to give terrible answers."
Obviously, Marcuswayne is aware of the criticism. He blamed people for taking him out of context:
Mullin touted the number of deportations under President Trump compared to former President Biden, saying they were "hitting record numbers, and I don't know why we wouldn't want to partner with our cities and states."
"It's frustrating to me that someone would take a 15-second clip and blow it way out of proportion," he later said.
You know how The Daily Show will show a politician complaining about something, then immediately air a montage of that same politician doing the exact thing they're criticizing? Can someone do that for Marcuswayne?! I'd love to see all the times he's taken people, places and things wildly out of context for political purposes, or, at the very least, a 10-minute reel of him trying to fight union bosses:
Anyway, even though it's weird to agree with MAGA crazies on a topic – Markwayne Mullin sucks – it is kind of satisfying to see the mob go after their guy.
For years, Markwayne has pandered to these psychos and talked tough for the cameras, and now one 15-second clip of him accidentally sounding like a normal person has them ready to run him out of the party. It's some great schadenfreude.
