Desmond Mason in legal trouble again…

You know how an artist’s work usually goes up in value after they die? Well, what happens when the artist gets sent to prison?

That’s a question some metro art collectors may be asking after Desmond Mason – the former OSU / Thunder star and self-described “ARTrepreneur" – was hit with five more felony charges for allegedly collecting tens of thousands of dollars for artwork and memorabilia he never delivered.

The story was quickly gobbled up by the local media, with virtually every major outlet filing a report:

Yeah, that’s not a surprise. If a guy doesn’t have a problem stiffing his own kids on child support, he probably isn’t going to lose much sleep over ripping off a few starstruck jersey chasers!

What a piece of shit, huh?

Anyway, I don’t really have anything new to add about Desmond that hasn’t already been written before. We’ll continue to follow his ongoing legal troubles and, for any readers who either own one of his paintings or are still waiting for one to arrive, keep you updated on whether his work goes up in value before or after sentencing.

Stay with The Lost Ogle. We’ll keep you advised.
