Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

This weekend, Oklahoma City has a chill but fun and very offbeat lineup in store. From felt-fashioned nostalgia and bold laughs to jazzy nights and naked beauty, here are some interesting things to do.

A Very Muppet Sing-Along with Lucas Ross
Sat., July 11 | 2PM | American Banjo Museum

Sure, I’m an 80s kid, but I can’t think of a more weird and wondrous way to spend a Saturday afternoon than with Muppets and a banjo plucked by a cross-dressing TikTok star and former class clown of the OKC media. At a banjo museum.

Lucas Ross is hosting an afternoon sing-along filled with songs from the felt friends who raised a generation of hose-drinkers. The family-friendly set also features songs from Sesame Street and classic Muppet films. No word on whether Lucas has the balls to do the Mahna Mahna song.

Tiffany Haddish
Multiple daily shows Fri., July 10-Sun., July 12 | Bricktown Comedy Club

I think Tiffany Haddish is genuinely funny. Earlier this week while watching a show she’s in, I nodded off with the distinct impression that she’s exactly that funny in real life. We’ll have plenty of chances to find out, because her latest stand-up tour is on the road and camping out at Bricktown Comedy Club for five performances over the weekend.

Friday and Saturday feature early and late shows, with a final Sunday evening performance. Tickets $60 and up.

Jazz in the Park
Sat., July 11 | 8PM | Scissortail Park

You already know if concerts in the park under the stars are your speed. This will be a chill downtown night of blankets, picnic baskets, and kids running mostly free while parents sway on smuggled booze to live jazz.

The lineup features performances by the Nelson Gonzalez Band, The Savoy Trio, and Butter and the Genre… plus plenty of food trucks and opportunities to procure legal libations.

The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce
All weekend | Museum hours | Oklahoma City Museum of Art

When I received the exhibition preview, I was so spellbound I nearly missed the defiant breast in the collection’s marquee work, Flaming June. I imagine more than a few members perked up when that nipple arrived in mailboxes.

OKCMOA's summer exhibition features 60 works from Puerto Rico's Museo de Arte de Ponce, spanning six centuries and including paintings by Rubens, Goya, Sargent and Leighton. It’s a big deal, go see it.

ROADTRIP PICK: Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah
Through Sat., July 11 | Multiple downtown venues

How adventurous of you to pack up your gear and sneak out of work for a festival road trip weekend! Okemah’s 2026 WoodyFest lineup is stacked with some of Oklahoma and the world’s best folk singers, kids workshops, free lessons, music talks, Mary Jo’s Brunch in the Minor Key and more.
