Before I pack up for the weekend, I’d like to touch on the big tabloid news story that’s dominated the Oklahoma news circuit this week.
In case you missed it, just days after he dropped out of the CD-1 race following the Daily Mail revelation that he had an inappropriate relationship with a former Miss Oklahoma USA, both Jackson Lahmeyer and his one-time mistress admitted they had a real-life sexual affair.

A Trump-backed pastor whose congressional campaign was annihilated after the Daily Mail exposed his relationship with a pageant queen aide has finally confessed, admitting in an exclusive interview that he cheated on his wife.
Jackson Lahmeyer, the married father of five who founded Pastors for Trump, stunningly revealed to the Daily Mail on Thursday that the story he'd dismissed days earlier from 'a British tabloid,' was all true - and went further.
Now he admits that in 2022 he had sex with Caitlin Simmons Key, the former Miss Oklahoma USA with whom he exchanged red-hot text messages during the 2026 campaign…
Before I write anything else, I’d like to formally apologize to Jackson Lahmeyer. When this story first broke, I thought there was no way someone like Caitlin would actually hook up with a right-wing dork like him, and bought his original lie. Once again, just look at them. Can you blame me?
Seriously, she hooked up with him?!? I guess that’s what I get for underestimating the alluring pull that fame, money and power can have on some people, especially when combined with low self-esteem.
Seriously, how low, depressed and drunk did she have to be for something like that to happen?
According to her, the answer is “very.”

Key, whose divorce had been finalized only weeks earlier, met Lahmeyer for drinks. Both had already been drinking, and the pair ended up back at one of his residences.
She was emphatic that it was a single occasion, and that the two did not have a physical relationship before or for years afterward.
'It was just that one night,' she said, adding that the pair did not see each other again for another year.
Key said she had only fragmented memories of the encounter. She claimed she was so drunk that she blew out a tire on her brand-new white Range Rover trying to leave.
First of all, I understand Miss Oklahoma USA wanting to clarify that she was drunk. I think we’ve all used that excuse once or twice to explain a bad decision or, in her case, justify going beneath her pay grade.
But maybe lay off the grand tales of drunk driving? Seriously, I don’t blame her for wanting to get out there, but the next time she hooks up with a married politician, maybe get an Uber.
Speaking of Ubers, Jackson Lahmeyer may be driving one soon. In addition to dropping out of the CD-1 race, he’s also taking a break from being a pastor:
Lahmeyer cast his withdrawal as a moral reckoning rather than a political defeat.
'As much as I want to be in Congress, I am going to choose to make things right with my wife and my kids,' he said…
Lahmeyer, who has announced an indefinite break from preaching at Sheridan Church, said he was finished with politics for good.
'I've had my fair share,' he said. 'I had a lot of fun. I met a lot of great people.'
Yeah, right.
I made the mistake of quasi-believing Lahmeyer’s original story about the first Daily Mail report, and now I’m writing about him having real-life drunken sex with a right-wing beauty queen before happy hour on a Friday. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, I guess I’m a Republican primary voter.
Call me crazy, but I don’t think this is the last time we see Lahmeyer on a political ballot. Just like once a cheater, always a cheater, once a politician, always a politician. Sooner or later, the itch to get attention, raise money and hook up with a vulnerable Miss Oklahoma USA always comes back.
