Ryan Walters Files For Divorce!

On Monday afternoon, we received a tip via the Ogle Mole Network that former Oklahoma State School Superintendent Ryan Walters – the infamous right-wing evangelical culture warrior who made a name for himself in some of the dumbest ways possible – has filed for divorce from his wife, Katie.

According to the divorce filing, which is pretty standard, boring, and lacking in juicy details, Ryan is seeking the divorce on grounds of “irreconcilable incompatibility.” He is also seeking an equitable split of all marital assets and debts, along with joint and equal custody of their four kids.

Even when it involves a self-righteous, MAGA-pandering grifter asshole who spreads hate and division online, divorce is no laughing matter. Because this involves a family with kids, we’re obviously going to take the high road and not in any way laugh, lampoon or mock Ryan over this sad situation, or point out the hysterical hypocrisy that he, a stodgy moralist whose entire political career was built on grandstanding about family values, apparently can’t even manage his own life and household.

Okay, so maybe we’ll laugh a little bit.

Seriously, Ryan Walters is getting a divorce! I guess that’s not too surprising. Let’s be honest – outside of Corey DeAngelis, who would voluntarily want to be married to Ryan Walters?

Then again, maybe this is all part of a bold new spousal-choice initiative where Ryan gives Katie the freedom to pursue a better husband. Or maybe it’s just another example of a self-righteous family-values conservative discovering that life is a lot more complicated when you’re not exploiting public school kids for political clout and financial gain.
