Stitt Suck-Up Issues Statement on $2B Investment Deal…

Yesterday afternoon, we took a little look at the latest crony grifting scandal involving Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.

As opposed to the Swadley’s Swindle, Class Wallet grift, and the various COVID, marijuana, and Center for Land Management schemes that have marred Stitt’s administration, this one involves Stitt’s friend, colleague, and former state employee, Bond “Pork Chop” Payne.

Here’s his X profile pic.

For what it’s worth, Pork Chop is the food-centric name / internet pseudonym that Bond chose for himself. If I were in charge, I would have gone with Egg White, Mr. Mayo or Gay Colonel Sanders.

Anyway, just like Governor Stitt, Bond was apparently not very appreciative of the Oklahoma Watch report that, pretty convincingly, detailed how he and Stitt did not reveal or disclose their personal and business relationships when it came time for a board to vote to give Payne’s firm a role tied to a potential $2 billion state investment fund.

Serious, not once did it get brought up that Bond served as Stitt’s Chief of Staff, that they partnered to build a big building together, or that Bond’s X page mirrors a Kevin Stitt stan account.

Geez, if someone kissed my ass I'd like that, I'd also probably vote to allow them to manage a billion-dollar endowment, too!

If you’re bored, go check out Bond Payne’s X account. It’s basically a Kevin Stitt fan page at this point. Who knows? Maybe Stitt didn’t vote to give Bond the contract as a favor, but to get the brownnoser to finally log off.

In response to the Oklahoma Watch piece, Bond – a model to men everywhere who are nicknamed after a cut of meat – issued a tweet and statement on X.

Yep, good news everyone! You know that rich guy who worked with the governor and didn’t publicly disclose their relationship while seeking a role tied to lucrative government investment contracts? He thinks public trust matters. I have to admit, that’s refreshing to hear. I was starting to worry he wasn’t going to take that seriously.

Here’s a copy of his statement:

You know, as a former PR professional, that’s a pretty good statement. It’s almost like he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, was asked why his hand was in the cookie jar, and then responded by explaining the nutritional benefits of cookies!

It really is great from a PR perspective, and I can see why Oklahoma Watch didn’t take it seriously.

Anyway, I guess we’ll continue following this story and see what twists and turns, if any, it takes. In the meantime, if you have any tips on government employees awarding contracts to friends, family members, and Twitter fanboys, hit us up on the TLO Tip Line.
