Welcome to this week’s Dumpster Fire!
Before we get to the Link Dump, here are a few updates to our previous stories:
• According to the Ogle Mole Network, some News 9 employees are not happy with how Griffin Communications has handled the discovery of hidden cameras in the station’s dressing rooms. Although some on-air personalities have apparently been made aware they’re captured on the recordings, information about the discovery to staff has been scant, and the company – and the OKCPD – have yet to release a statement.
• A few weeks back, we told you about Jennifer Roberts – the conwoman who used a crisis nursery non-profit as her own personal slush fund. KFOR filed a follow-up this week that revealed more of her lavish spending habits, including over $40,000 on personal DoorDash orders, which is impressive considering most of us feel guilty after spending $23 on a couple of tacos and a Sprite.
• Remember the conman who was pretending he was pals with Sam Bradford to trick dumb rich people into giving him money to invest? Well, it turns out it was nothing but a scam, and he’s now been criminally charged.
Grand Jury CHARGES financial investor Matthew Veazey of MVZ Holdings LLC, whose alleged victims believe their money wasn't invested, but used for "new cars, house in Gaillardia, $20,000 to $50,000 a month in credit card spending..." https://t.co/YE4I32kZ6Q pic.twitter.com/ZwJ8XFJFBh

In other news, I wonder how “trust me, I know Sam Bradford” will work out in prison.
With those updates out of the way, let’s get to the Dumpster Fire.

Latest Stitt Grifts Exposed
Oklahoma Watch had a good exposé on how Stitt steered a valuable $2 billion state investment advisory role to one of his business partners. It reeks of the same grift that’s been all too common throughout the Stitt administration.

Oops! Wrong tweet. That’s the Yawn Doc article about the Stitt family wanting a new state airplane for their personal travel.
Here’s the Oklahoma Watch article about the investment fund gift:

That’s fun. I used to be outraged by Stitt’s grifting scandals, but they’ve become so normal over the years, I’ve kind of come to expect them as a reality. Either way, this one seems kind of juicy, and we may have to take a closer look next week.

Gentner Plays Dress Up for Marijuana Bust
Out of all the Republican candidates, I think Gentner is the best choice. Sure, that’s kind of like picking your favorite Hal Smith restaurant, but you get my point.
That being said, can he please stop with the cosplay theatrics?
JUST IN: Our Organized Crime Task Force continues to deliver results.
— Gentner Drummond (@gentnerdrummond) April 9, 2026
We've just seized over 58,000 illegal marijuana plants, and several illegal immigrants have been taken into custody and deported.

We get it. You’re the attorney general and involved in law enforcement. We don’t need the costume to remind us. There’s no need to waste taxpayer money on embroidered apparel when one of your new bomber jackets or ranch coats will work perfectly fine instead.

Cherokee Nation to Fight to Protect Medicaid…
If I could draft one Oklahoma politician to run for governor, it would probably be Chuck Hoskin Jr., principal chief of the Cherokee Nation. This video is an example of why.
WATCH: “My conclusion isn’t we can’t afford it [Medicaid expansion]. My conclusion is that this state can’t afford to lose Medicaid expansion and I will do everything I can to try to protect it.” - Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation Chuck Hoskin Jr. to lawmakers today. #okleg pic.twitter.com/BIig2WR4N9

You can read more about Hoskin’s thoughts on Medicaid, and why it’s important to make sure it’s fully funded here.

Boring Spring Football Coming to OKC
Over the past 50 years, minor league spring football has never quite worked out in America, and it probably never will, but let’s pretend that reality doesn’t exist and act excited that OKC is getting a UFL football team.
We are football country.

The United Football League is coming to Oklahoma City in Spring 2028! pic.twitter.com/eZwMJhqHpy
I guess that’s fine. Just like with all other minor league sports teams (Cavalry, Blazers, Redhawks, Twisters, Wranglers, Yard Dawgs, Barons, Energy, etc.), I’ll probably go to a game or three, but I’ll be shocked if it’s still around in five years.
Already, there’s speculation on what the team will be called. To the disappointment of Okie internet nepobaby Joe C. Jr., it won’t be the OKC Bombers.
My top names for Oklahoma City’s UFL mascot:
— Joe Castiglione Jr. (@JoeCJr29) April 9, 2026
- Bison (State Animal)
- Bombers (S/O Tinker)
- Lightning (should be obvious)
- Outlaws (Feels like 1984)
- Yard Dawgz (Remember them?)
If they really want to pay homage to Oklahoma City history, they should name the team after OKC’s most popular professional football team: the OKC Dolls.

Tribal Members Stuck Paying Taxes…
Regardless of your tribe – or, according to Kevin Stitt, race – I guess the old adage about “life, death and taxes” holds true.
The ruling leaves intact a 2025 Oklahoma Supreme Court decision that denied the income tax exemption sought by a Muscogee Nation citizen. https://t.co/6FCgsr4qwW
— Tulsa World (@tulsaworld) April 6, 2026
Yeah, that may suck for my tribal friends, but at least they still get to save money on license plates!

Oh no. Oklahoma teachers are in the news again.
This time, it involves two elementary school employees in Elgin who were arrested after allegedly assaulting students – including one report involving a very young child.

It’s too bad they weren’t coaches, or could have gotten away with it!
