Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

Happy Friday, Oklahoma City! This weekend, it’s the Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox – known in these parts as Easter. Every church and park in town will be a living kaleidoscope of kids and candy.

But godless heathens need stuff to do, too, so here’s a quick list of alt options for your weekend...

Through the Looking Glass – An Immersive Experience
Fri. Apr. 3 | 11AM-7PM | Craig’s Emporium

It's a tea party but naughty and strange. After all, it's Craig's! Sneak out of work early today and stop by the 23rd St. warehouse-of-weird for a whimsical event featuring tea leaf readings, tea service with snacks, champagne, mimosas, and big sales. You won't find me in one, but costumes are encouraged – along with curiosity and a sense of humor.

BOLO – Latin Rave DJ
Fri. Apr. 3 | 8PM | Tower Theatre

Sure, the drugs will be flowing, but you won't need them – BOLO's high-energy festival vibes will do the trick. If you could use a lift out of your head, his genre-blending EDM show at Tower is a great choice for your Friday night. You can call it therapy.

-

Sip ‘N Skip on the Strip – Margarita Walk
Sat. Apr. 4 | 6-8PM | 39th Street District

Saturday is the season-opener of the Gayborhood's monthly margarita walk. AI OKC Pride says to expect "high-energy vibes, and a night built around connection, celebration, and a little chaos."

A $35 punch-card gets you two margaritas at each stop – and I count four stops. While I trust anything on 39th to be organically festive and fun, getting eight margs deep probably doesn't hurt. Walk it off.

Bikes & Brews Tour – Downtown
All weekend | 1:30PM & 5PM | Oklahoma City

Here's another way to get some exercise while boozing this weekend! These people look so happy cruising around downtown between brewery stops that I have considered taking up beer just so I can join.

Maybe they are happy from the fresh air, sunshine and friends – or maybe it's the buzz. Either way, Saturday and Sunday look great for booking this 5-brewery bike tour.
