There's a lot going on this weekend in Oklahoma City, and it looks like the weather gods will be mostly smiling upon us.
From opening days and nights to art and live music – and even a way to stay overnight at the Zoo without getting arrested – here are a few things worth checking out...

Opening Night at the Ballpark – OKC Comets vs. ABQ Isotopes
Fri. Mar. 27 | 7:05PM | Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark
Patrick may not be fully recovered from his last trip to the ballpark, but Louis Fowler is attending tonight's OKC Comets season-opener in his stead. From what I gather, opening night is all the pomp and energy of an open-air Thunder game – could be fun, especially if the snacks are good! I guess we’ll find out when Louis files his report.

Future of Sound Fest & Spring Artist Market
Sat. Mar. 28 | 2-8PM | Factory Obscura
Get ready for the release of Mix-Tape Vol. 7. It sets a high bar for a music and art festival to call itself a “spectacle of creative collaboration,” but with six live performers spread throughout the day and a full Spring Artist Market taking over 9th Street, Factory Obscura might actually pull it off. After, keep things rocking with a burger and beer from S&B’s across the street.

OKC Home + Outdoor Living Show
All weekend | Hours vary by day | State Fair Park
If strolling around getting ideas for projects you’ll never start sounds like fun, head to the fairgrounds this weekend for the OKC Home + Outdoor Living Show. Be sure to take advantage of their most Oklahoma promotion ever: two adults get free admission on Sunday… with a church bulletin! Beats lugging around a Bible to impress people and almost makes up for this expo being both heavily sponsored and ticketed.

OKC Zoo Public Overnight - Spring into Sustainability
Sat. Mar. 28 - Sun. Mar. 29 | 6:45PM-9AM | Oklahoma City Zoo
What a fun thing to do with kids! Think of this as guided (indoor) camping at the Zoo… the closest you’ll ever legally sleep to such cool and dangerous creatures. Eat dinner before you show up, and plan for plenty of hikes around the Zoo. $55 per person – ticket proceeds help to connect people with the planet’s vanishing wildness and inspire conservation.

Wheeler Ferris Wheel Opening Day Party
Sat. Mar. 28 | 10AM-10PM | Wheeler District Ferris Wheel
The downtownish district really proud of its Ferris wheel is celebrating the opening of a 10th season. If the weather holds, Saturday will be perfect to ride the day away between pitstops at food trucks and boozy stands – with live music, a scavenger hunt, and prizes mixed in.
Pro Tip: Watch your speed on that last stretch of Western; the posted limit is a lot lower than it used to be, and it’s definitely a trap.
