Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

Spring may not officially have arrived, but Oklahoma City doesn't give a shit about the rules! There's a spring in her step and plenty of high-energy stuff happening around town.

Here's an eclectic mix of events worth getting into over this sunny, warm weekend…

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sat. Mar. 14 | 10AM | Historic Stockyards City

There are countless boozy St. Patrick's Day happenings this weekend, but why just party when you can parade! This family-friendly shindig features the Slash O Ranch Longhorns, the ghost of St. Patrick, bagpipes, Irish dancers, Shriners, classic cars, pageant royalty, community groups, and equestrian entries along Exchange Avenue.

After the parade, stick around for kids' activities (balloon art, face painting, games) near Little Joe’s Boots and a performance by McTeggart’s Irish Dancers at Rodeo Cinema at 11AM.

2026 Oscar-Nominated Documentary Short Films
Sat. Mar. 14 | 4:30PM | Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Saturday is the final screening! Film lovers who struggle with short attention spans will especially appreciate this one-stop shop for seeing all five Oscar-nominated documentary shorts in one place. I am particularly interested in Armed Only With A Camera: The Life And Death Of Brent Renaud, but – seriously – all the contenders look so good.

Bluegrass on the Patio – Bruster & Co. Live
Sat. Mar. 14 | 7PM | Skydance Brewing Co.

Kick off patio season with live bluegrass from Bruster & Co. at Skydance Brewing Co. Bring a lawn chair, grab a beer, and settle in for an evening of live music and fresh air. Skydance recently expanded its spacious taproom with a full kitchen pumping out Native-inspired dishes, so you can balance out that bellyful of beer with some actual nourishment.

Youth Workshop: Make a Bee House
Sat. Mar. 14 | 11AM-12 Noon | Myriad Gardens (Water Plaza Room)

What a sweet little activity to anchor a Saturday afternoon! Kids get to build their own bee houses and learn why pollinators are some of the hardest-working little heroes in the garden. It's just $12, and your little one gets to take home their own handmade backyard bee shelter and help save the planet.

After, stroll two blocks west to the Lazy Donkey. My daughter swears by their avocado enchiladas. You might end up swearing by their margs.

A Woman’s Work – A Preview of Works in Progress
Sun. Mar. 15 | 1PM | Perpetual Motion Dance

If I didn't have plans to be in a different theater in a different city on Sunday, I would definitely plan to be here. The boring title makes it sound like a buttoned-up women’s studies lecture at OU, but this is art, baby – exploring women’s experiences and identity through movement. If you’re unfamiliar with Perpetual Motion Dance, know this: the grace and beauty of these dancers defying gravity and societal expectations is badass.
