Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

This weekend, the gods (old and new) are shining upon Oklahoma City with the very best of spring weather in the dead of winter. If you can ignore the implications and embrace the sunshine, anything you do will be lovely.

Here’s what’s going on around town this weekend.

THE BLACK LAND – Exhibition at Oklahoma Contemporary
All weekend | Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center

If you're interested in art and story that go deeper than a surface-level Black History Month nod, Oklahoma Contemporary just opened an exhibition that takes Oklahoma’s overlooked histories seriously. Photographer Jakian Parks illuminates Black equestrian and rodeo culture through quiet, powerful photography that reframes Western mythologies by centering Black bodies and traditions on the land they helped define. Free.

AFFAIR OF THE HEART – Spring Craft & Artisan Market
All weekend | Hours vary by day | OKC Fair Park

Sure, I could make fun of this – Braum’s is the sponsor, after all! Yes, there will be plastic snakeskin handbags with big silver buckles and Live Laugh Love plaques, but there will also be some very interesting, one-of-a-kind gifts and home furnishings from local makers. Expect seas of church ladies mixed up with weirdos hunting boutique discoveries, vintage finds, and artisan goods that favor the handmade.

SOUND OF FALLING – Film at OKCMOA
Feb 6-8, 2026 (multiple showtimes) | Oklahoma City Museum of Art

My lazy Sunday afternoon plan felt wrong to keep to myself. This Cannes Jury Prize–winning German film follows the dreams and desires of four women across time in a century-spanning farmhouse drama that melds trauma, memory, and grace into a haunting cinematic tapestry. This weekend only: $6 for members, $10 otherwise.

SEED + PLANT SWAP – Mycelium Gallery
Feb 7, 2026 | 3-6 p.m. | 2816 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

This is a thing you'd do at home with your friends if you had enough cool plant people in your life. Alas, try this one hosted at a community art gallery. Gardeners, plant lovers and people hoping to get started growing their own drugs will come to trade seeds and cuttings.

A free swap-event with light snacks and AF beverages by Lucid Libations, it's part barter, part backyard brainstorming. RSVPs are appreciated.

PASEO FIRST FRIDAY GALLERY WALK – Arts District Stroll
Feb 6, 2026 / 6-9 p.m. / Paseo Arts District, OKC

Oops, my favorites are showing! Actually, this is a serious clarion call to Oklahoma Citians who love people, art, food, live music, and patio weather in winter. Get out for a goddamn walk tonight! Over 80 galleries and studios in Paseo will throw open their doors for an evening of new art, receptions, and shenanigans. Always free, but good luck not spotting something you can't live without.
