Weekend Radar: What to Do in OKC This Weekend

It's the new year, and Oklahoma City is easing back into her regularly scheduled weekending: art parties, weird happenings, music, movement, and at least one thing that sounds totally made up but isn’t.

Here's your Weekend Radar.

Glitterball 2026: The Road to Oz
Sat., Jan. 10 · 8–11 p.m. · Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center

Glitterball is the night the artists, weirdos, creatives and patrons show out in visually spectacular fashion to raise money for deadCenter’s programs. This year’s theme is The Road to Oz, so expect cinematic if not psychedelic flair, live music, cocktails, and serious dancing. This diverse, epic party counts as civic engagement, so dress like you mean it.

2026 WEIRDlesque Fest: Cosplay Cabaret Competition
Fri.–Sat., Jan. 9–10 · Showtimes vary · The Enclave Event Center

This one is just weird enough to talk about – imagine the spectacle! WEIRDlesque is a badly-named, two-night festival of nerdiness, costumes, competition, theatrical bravado, and “just the right amount of naughty.” Think: burlesque, but for boundary-pushers whose tastes tip to the bizarre.

Not that you’d go to a weird happening at a nondescript event center on S. Portland alone, but pair this one with adventurous friends.

Forever Young Night: Curated Vinyl Sessions + Cocktails
Fri., Jan. 9 · 5 p.m.–12 a.m. · The Sound Bar

If vibing to vinyl over a stiff Negroni downtown is more your speed, hit up the Sound Bar after work on Friday. This spot is the passion project of an OKC-by-way-of-LA entertainment lawyer who knows exactly what he's doing.

Forever Young is a curated session spinning vinyl selections by artists named Young – and a few essential adjacent picks – played as mood dictates. They had me at Neil Young and Sonic Youth, but you might stay for Young Thug or Young the Giant. Give it a spin.

-

Myriad in Motion: Free Yoga
Sat., Jan. 10 · 9 a.m. · Myriad Botanical Gardens

What’s better than bursting from bed on a Saturday morning, grabbing coffee, and taking a free yoga class in the lushness of downtown’s best green space! If your answer is sleeping off the night before, fair enough – you can catch it next Saturday morning… and the one after that.

-

Candlelight Tribute to Fleetwood Mac
Sat., Jan. 10 · 8:45 p.m. · The Yale Theater

This candlelit, string-forward tribute to Fleetwood Mac is just the transcendental thing for anyone possessed of good taste and frayed ends. Expect soft lighting, familiar melodies, and a theater full of strangers quietly exhaling at the same time. After, stop by Resonant Head a few blocks up in Capitol Hill for a nightcap.

Honorable Mention

Morrissey!
Tue., Jan. 13 · 8:00 p.m. · The Criterion

The Criterion is not a great music venue, and this show is not even on the weekend – but it’s fucking Morrissey, so. GA Floor is sold out, but balcony tickets are still available at publication time…
