I guess we should get the new year started on a pageview-generating note!
Shelby Love – the beauty pageant winner turned traffic reporter / anchor – announced on New Year's Eve she is no longer with KOKH Fox 25 and its morning show, Good Day Oklahoma.
Here’s her very brief and very direct news report about the decision:
Wow! Let’s all give Shelby a standing round of applause for not only using the best hair conditioner money can buy, but also leaving the shortest TV sign-off post in the history of these things!
Seriously, that’s some groundbreaking stuff!
Usually, when a young TV news starlet moves on to other things – like a new market, government agency, or a rich husband – they share a reflective, bittersweet, over-dramatized post about their “continued journey” that always feels about five paragraphs too long.
You know, like this one:
Shelby’s, on the other hand, was direct, to the point, and devoid of unnecessary fluff! If that doesn’t show that she has bona fide skills and instincts to make it as a journalist, I don’t know what else does!
Well, outside of this demo reel that’s been online since July.
Back in the Barstool-ish early days of TLO, Shelby would probably be an Ogle Madness 2-seed and have several creepy listicles published in her honor, but I honestly think this is the first time we’ve written about her.

Seriously, what an oversight, huh?
On that note, I’d like to apologize to Shelby and all of our longtime, loyal, and kind of creepy readers for not giving her the TLO coverage she deserved.
Hopefully for everyone involved, Shelby lands a new gig in a better time slot in the OKC market where people will actually get to see her work – and not simply forget about her existence as she coasts through life in mid-morning Fox affiliate purgatory.
