Remember the name Angie Mock?
She was the debut co-anchor for KOKH Fox 25 when they launched their Good Morning Oklahoma program back in 2007. Here she is throwing it to Lauren Richardson at Braum’s in a vintage TLO classic.
Joined by Brent Weber and Jeff George, Angie seemed very nice and cordial in the morning and promptly made our inaugural ranking of our 20 Hottest Women in the OKC Media – a very serious, science-based survey we conducted back when the Internet was fun and you could get away with that stuff.

Why she should be higher: Before joining the Fox 25 Morning Show, Angie was a sports anchor. Good-looking women that like sports are cool.
Why she should be lower: It seems that her favorite sport is hockey. That means that she probably wears baggy sweaters and goes to Blazers games. That's not hot!
Man. That really does take me back to the golden age of the pre-social internet. Can you imagine trying to get away with that now?! Back before content was fake, jokes were allowed, and outside of stabbing your 80-year-old mother to death, you could almost get away with anything!
Oh yeah, about that.
Mock eventually left OKC for St. Louis in 2011. She left that market in 2015 to join the corporate world, discovered carbs, and then – 10 years later – ended up in jail for stabbing her 80-year-old mother to death in Wichita, Kansas.

A former news anchor has been charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed and killed her elderly mother.
Police responded to a “reported cutting” at a residence in Wichita, Kan., at about 7:52 a.m. local time on Friday, Oct. 31, per a media release shared on Facebook by the Sedgwick County Police Department (SCPD).
Upon arrival, police found a woman — who was later identified as 47-year-old Angelynn “Angie” Mock — standing outside the home. They then entered the residence and found Mock’s mother, Anita Avers, 80, “unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds.”
Avers was transported to a local hospital, where she died later that morning, per the media release.
Yep, that’s right! Angie Freakin’ Mock was arrested for murdering her mom?! What in the name of Uze Brown-Washington is going on here?! If I had to pick one former news anchor to go nuts and murder someone, it would have been Meg Alexander, Andrew Speno, or Cherokee Ballard. Not, as Brent Skarky would call her, Angie Mock 10.

Yikes! Was she arrested mid-hair dye or something? I can't believe she murdered someone, and it wasn't her stylist. It's like she unintentionally went through the same transformation as Charlize Theron did in Monster.
As Glenn would muse in Wayne's World, it's crazy how life works out, huh? Lose control and play a murderer on film, and they give you an Oscar. Do it in real life, they call you a murderer!

Anyway, details of the crime haven’t been announced, so we don’t really know what happened. I guess it could have been a sympathetic murder to put her mom out of pain and misery. Then again, maybe she learned Mom wrote her out of the will and… well. Either way, I guess we’ll have to wait around for more details to know for sure.
