This shoplifter doesn’t know about Netflix…

The daring criminal pictured above is Mark Cedillo.

Last week, he was busted trying to steal DVD's of the popular Netflix series "Orange is the New Black" from an area Walmart. Apparently his ex-girlfriend wised up and finally changed her Netflix password or something.

Via News 9:

An Oklahoma City man was arrested after police said he stole several DVDs of popular TV show “Orange Is The New Black.”

According to police, at about 4:50 p.m. on Friday, February 6, officers responded to the report of a shoplifter at Wal-Mart, located at 100 E. I-240 Service Road.

An employee at the Loss Prevention Office told police that the suspect, 20-year-old Mark Delarosa Cedillo, removed several DVDs and placed them in the waistband of his pants.

The employee said Cedillo then went to the checkout counter and paid for some groceries, but he did not pay for the DVDs or remove them from his waistband.

Employees stopped Cedillo as he was leaving the store. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of larceny of merchandise from a retailer.

That's kind of ridiculous. Why would you attempt to steal something you can watch at home for $7.99 a month? Is there a big black market for things like this? Do people actually buy them. What's next? Is Walmart going to sell music CDs that you can stream for free on YouTube of Spotify? Only idiots would buy (or steal) that stuff.

Of course, maybe Mark is just a really big fan of the show. I can see that. I think we all have a soft spot for award winning dramedies that focus on the complex lives women live behind prison bars. My favorites in that genre are Sister Wives and Designing Women.
