After using her political connections to score an incredibly early exit from prison, Sara Polston is now going to federal court to make sure she doesn’t have to go back.
Thanks to a tip via the Ogle Mole Network, we've learned that Polston – the infamous Normanite who became the focus of intense outrage after she served only 73 days of an eight-year prison sentence for driving drunk and crashing into 19-year-old Micaela Borrego, leaving the teen with a traumatic brain injury – has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court to block her return to prison following the passage of Senate Bill 137.
The law, which takes effect November 1, specifically makes people convicted of DUI causing great bodily injury ineligible for Oklahoma’s electronic monitoring program and requires inmates who lose eligibility to be removed from it.
