We’re in the heart of graduation season in Oklahoma – a.k.a. that magical time of year when tassels are turned, caps are thrown, and you suddenly feel 900 years old while walking through Target to buy gift cards for distant relatives, your friends’ rapidly aging children, and – apparently – disgraced state lawmakers who had to resign over a felony campaign-finance scandal.
Yesterday afternoon, Ajay Pittman – the former state representative who resigned in disgrace after pleading guilty to felony charges tied to her campaign-finance scandal – sent out a campaign-style mass text blast inviting friends, family, colleagues, and, apparently, half the Oklahoma Democratic Party to her upcoming graduation celebration.
Here’s a copy we obtained via the Ogle Mole Network:

Yep, that’s right.
After spending the past few months making headlines for all the wrong reasons – fake documents, misspent campaign cash, felony pleas, etc. – Ajay is now back in everyone’s texts, asking them to RSVP for her big day.
For giggles, I clicked the Linktree link she provided and was quickly taken to a Zola page celebrating her apparent marriage to the University of Oklahoma. Naturally, it included a link to a registry:

Ignoring for a second that Ajay used Zola.com – a wedding website – to make a graduation announcement for her bachelor’s degree, I think my favorite part is that she lists herself as “Hon. Ajay Pittman.”
Like, I know “Honorable” is technically an honorific for elected officials, but after you resign from office following a felony plea tied to campaign-finance violations, maybe you drop the title for a bit – at least until you pay back the more than $35,000 in reimbursements and penalties you owe.
Then again, maybe she was a judge at a local chili cook-off and kept the title. She seems like the type of person who would do that.
Seriously, I don’t know if Ajay is incredibly brazen, magnificently aloof, or simply blessed with a superhuman inability to read a room, but mass-texting a graduation registry to the Oklahoma political world just months after pleading guilty to felony charges and resigning in disgrace shows a lack of self-awareness I kind of envy!
Anyway, if you want to learn more about Ajay, read and view the AI slop she cobbled together about herself, or maybe even send her a Cash App donation that hopefully helps pay back the people of Oklahoma, I guess visit her website.
Also, congrats to Ajay on her accomplishment. Although the tone-deaf way she promoted it was tacky, earning a degree is still something to be proud of… even if you are a disgraced lawmaker.
